Re: Volvo to ditch combustion engines

I do. Does Volvo? I think the real question is "did the person who wrote the article understand it"? I have gotten ever so more dissatisfied with the poor quality of news articles. "to sound the death knell of the internal combustion engine" sounds exactly like hyperbole that a ...

Re: Warranty details

Hi all, Just wanted to let you know, my dealer (for lease ioniq ev) has confirmed me that it has an 8 year, <70% battery warranty. I asked him to put this in writing so he put it in the offer (obviously at 0 cost). Best regards, Bart Do you live in So. California? (I had heard that is the only plac...

Re: Just contrated Ioniq EV 2017

A possible solution is that IF new electric line must be installed, a special electric switch (off/on) can be installed behind a locked door to control power to the charger. Then only someone with a key to the lock box can turn on the electricity to the charger. There are also "chargers" t...

Re: California trend: hybrid sales sink, plug-in electric cars soar

The article failed to mention that in California, plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) have a HUGE benefit for drivers (compared to 'traditional' hybrids) : a plug-in (PHEV) can get a sticker that provides access to the carpool lane (allows a vehicle to drive in the 'car pool' reserved lane even if the number of...

Re: Does the power grid have enough juice to keep up with EV sales?

Don't Ontario and Quebec have very high % of renewable energies? Or maybe I am just thinking low coal/gas - Ontario may have a lot of nuclear electricity ...

In which country are you trying to buy? (You mentioned earlier that you rented one in South Korea.)

Re: Parts of the world to get EV and hybrid early 2018

http://www.caradvice.com.au/548045/hyundai-ioniq-hybrid-phev-and-ev-expected-by-early-2018/ North America seems to be the only place where the sales centers are not looking forward to having all three power trains at the same time. The article states that in other locations the dealerships are look...
