Electric vehicles to cost the same as conventional cars by 2018

This article is out of the UK so has little bearing on us over here in North America, however, if this actually became fact do you think more people would purchase EV's? For me the big question is bringing down the cost of the battery (well the battery itself needs to be revamped as it is the least ...

Re: The True Cost of Powering an Electric Car

This is a very interesting perspective for me coming from Canada where the exact opposite happens. Our gasoline costs vary a great deal from week to week but on the west coast we have low steady and stable energy costs. In BC EV's are definitely worth it in the long run for vehicle savings compared ...

Re: Canadian government to spend 7 million on charging stations

It does say "across the nation"... so should have a positive effect everywhere. It's a move in the right direction - another 1000 charging stations will be a significant improvement. Across the nation - the prairie provinces are not getting on the EV change. So we have Quebec, Ontario and...

Re: Does the power grid have enough juice to keep up with EV sales?

Don't Ontario and Quebec have very high % of renewable energies? Or maybe I am just thinking low coal/gas - Ontario may have a lot of nuclear electricity ... Canada doesn't use coal as it once did a decade ago. We still produce a lot of it but have turned to better energy sources. The West Coast us...

Re: All electric Ioniq only available in rebate offering provinces in Canada

The ionic hybrids will be available across Canada but the all-electric will only be available in provinces with government rebates for electric vehicles What about Ioniq PHEVs? Phev may be considered as a hybrid in which case all provinces would receive the pHev's. We will have to look and confirm ...

Re: California Is Going To Test Power-Generating Roads

I also thought solar power was a better way to generate energy off of Roads it's amazing to me the science that the movement of the wheels on the roads can generate better amounts of energy than the sun itself. I also was under the assumption that by adding solar panels to Vehicles roof Hood trunk w...

Re: 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid: Korea's attempt to out-Prius the Prius

Did Hyundai bring Ioniq in the market as a competition of Toyota Prius? These words are pretty straight forward. Hyundai doesn’t just want to be Toyota, it wants to break Toyota, in part by relentlessly copying the Big T’s jiujitsu. However, this entire article is full of interesting facts on Ioniq...

Re: Solar Panels and Electric Cars: Can I Use Solar as an EV charger?

Tesla has shown product of this kind already. In some parts of the States, Canada and other parts of the world can easily have solar panels that will charge the batteries - it is a brilliant idea and I hope it becomes a standing option.
