Hyundai, WaiveCar team up to offer Ioniq EV car sharing for free

Thu Nov 17, 2016 4:42 pm

IONIQ EV is offering free car sharing!

Hyundai partnered with WaiveCar to make this happen. WaiveCar is an all-electric car sharing company that operates on advertising dollars, thanks to a roof-mounted digital display and vinyl wraps. In the Ioniq EV's case, it's all Hyundai-related. 4G connections allow the billboards to target ads based on time and location.

Waive Cars are currently Chevy Spark EVs (which aren't sold any more). Only available in Los Angeles.

The IONIQ isn't available ANYWHERE in North America yet - so far nothing but hot air from Hyundai.

Why isn't the Chevy Spark sold anymore I've read it also was a good seller for Chevy?

The Chevy Spark is still sold (gas version). The electric version has been replaced by another vehicle.

It will be interesting to see what models and makes of vehicles change in these type of scenarios as new and better electric vehicles get on the road
