Best hybrid cars

Thu May 04, 2017 12:19 am

A list of hybrids that are available for sale in the UK on 2017. Hyundai Ioniq forum people will be happy to know that their favorite hybrid is at the first spot of the list.

This is the first car to be offered as either a conventional hybrid, a plug-in hybrid or a fully electric vehicle. Obviously, it’s the hybrid we’re concerned with here. Although it’s clearly a rival for the likes of the Toyota Prius, it’s more conventional-looking than that car, which may well tempt some buyers away from the Prius and in to the Ioniq. Considering this is Hyundai’s first attempt at a hybrid, it’s extremely impressive. It’s not quite as efficient as the Toyota, but it’s still pretty good, returning around 83mpg, but CO2 emissions of 79g/km mean that while it costs nothing to tax, it’s still liable for the London Congestion Charge. Beyond those figures, the Ioniq is actually pretty good to drive, with the gearbox being particularly impressive. Inside, it feels very much like a conventional modern Hyundai, which is no bad thing, while it’s well equipped and a good bit cheaper than the Prius, too. And that clinches the deal to make it our favourite hybrid.
