BC Rebates and Incentives

Tue Mar 21, 2017 4:35 am

BC has an incentive program for electric vehicle buyers to receive up to a 5000.00 savings on the purchase or lease of a new batter electric or lug in vehicle. It is up to 6000.00 for a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle. I don't understand the increase for the hydrogen fuel cell as the infrastructure is no where near the level of electric vehicles and the process for hydrogen fuel cells is not efficient at all. These savings can be combined with the SCRAP IT incentives and add up to 3200.00 to that savings. There has been numerous programs but all "run out" of money quickly and are dissolved for good. Even though these are not too bad for green incentive programs we are still behind Ontario where some of their rebates are up to 10000.00. Our Federal government should get together and mandate legislature to allow all provinces equal access to equal incentives.
So, if you are thinking about purchasing an electric or phev or qualifying hybrid I would purchase sooner rather than later to make sure you can receive the most incentives available. They are going fast.

The SCRAP-IT program is very considerate. If anyone in Hyundai IONIQ forum wants to check it out, here is the link:

Yeah, Ontario got some real good rebate deal. Other provinces in Canada does not offer that huge rebate to consumers.
