Warranty comparisons between the major manufacturers

HYUNDAI 10 YRS/100,000 MILES
TOYOTA 5 YRS/60,000 MILES
HONDA 5 YRS/60,000 MILES
NISSAN 5 YRS/60,000 MILES
CHEVROLET 5 YRS/100,000 MILES*
LEXUS 6 YRS/70,000 MILES

Original owner only 10 year warranty Covers repair or replacement of powertrain components (i.e., selected engine and transmission/transaxle components), originally manufactured or installed by Hyundai that are defective in material or factory workmanship, under normal use and maintenance. Coverage applies to original owner only, effective with 2004 model year and newer model-year vehicles. On 1999-2003 model years, coverage applies to original owner and immediate family members (i.e., wife, husband, daughter, son, stepdaughter, stepson).

Second and/or subsequent owners have powertrain components coverage under the 5-Year/60,000-Mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Excludes coverage for vehicles in commercial use (e.g., taxi, route delivery, delivery service, rental, etc.).

Took this off of the Hyundai site and I think it gives a good understanding to all just how great their warranties are. For original owner a 10 year or 100,000 mile warranty is unbelievable with vehicles in similar price ranges. If for nothing else I like all Hyundai models based on the reliablity of the warranty. It also makes a statement - It is like Hyundai is saying to the purchaser I got your back. I trust the production of my vehicle is going to take you 100,000 miles free of problems. It makes putting out the money easier for me.

That lifetime battery-failure warranty applies to the Hybrid, EV, and PHEV versions of IONIQ.

Interesting note that you found it applies to original owner only!
Do you have a link to the site where you found that?
