Hyundai plans multiple versions of Ioniq hybrid

Mon Apr 03, 2017 5:56 pm

Hyundai Ioniq automotive engineers didn't just build a regular electric car. They have planned to beat the Prius, which means the features have to be cooler than their current competitions. And they did it.

The Ioniq, which sports a one-motor, one-clutch setup, gets its edge partly by delivering much better highway fuel economy than the world’s best selling hybrid, Hyundai engineers said.

The Ioniq, which went on sale in South Korea in January but was only unveiled officially in Hyundai’s home market today, offers three electrified drivetrains in one body type: a traditional hybrid, a plug-in hybrid and an all-electric variant.

Some cool stuff - 4 levels of friction seems like a large amount of options I don't know exactly how that will be good bad or better than one another but options are always good to have. I would appreciate if someone could explain in elementary terms how the 4 levels of friction benefit or benefit better the car
